This week, students are writing blogs for the first assignment in their world music project. For this project, students were assigned a country to research and present about with partners. What we're REALLY excited about, is that the kids are pretending that they're a celebrity singer for this assignment. We're pretending that each group's celebrity is studying music in college and taking a study abroad trip to that country to learn about their traditional music and popular culture.
For the first assignment, students were to write a blog post to their friends, through the eyes of their chosen celebrity, that explains where they're going, what they're excited about, what they will need to learn or collect before their trip, etc. because they just figured out where they were studying abroad through their university.
